Delta Fair & Music Festival Celebrates Agriculture Industry September 1-10 with Fun, Educational Activities Including Petting Zoo, Livestock Competitions, and 4-H and FFA Children’s Barnyard

September 8 Celebrates Homeschool, FFA & 4-H Day with Discounted Admission, Wristbands

MEMPHIS, TENN., August 29, 2017 – The Delta Fair & Music Festival will celebrate the importance of the agriculture industry in the Mid-South region with 10 days of exciting, interactive, and educational activities for all ages during the Delta Fair & Music Festival taking place Friday, September 1, till Sunday, September 10, at Agricenter International, 7777 Walnut Grove Road.

Friday, September 8, will be Homeschool, FFA & 4-H Day; from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m., admission is $5 for ages 5 and older (4 and younger admitted free), and wristbands are $15 (regular price $25 in effect after 2 p.m.). All Homeschool, FFA and 4-H Day participants must buy their tickets and wristbands before 2 p.m. to receive the special discounts. All discount tickets will be sold only at the Homeschool, FFA & 4-H Day booth near Entrance 3 off Walnut Grove Road. Homeschool, FFA & 4-H Day participants may stay for as long as the fair is open Friday, but they must purchase tickets at the Homeschool, FFA & 4-H Day booth and be inside the gates by 2 p.m. to receive the special discounts.

Throughout the Delta Fair & Music Festival, children and families can enjoy pony rides, watch the pig races, and interact with more than 100 animals at the Petting Zoo, including baby calves, goats, pigs, burros, buffaloes, and baby horses. Animal husbandry will be highlighted with 10 days of Livestock Shows featuring cattle, goats, hogs, and sheep, and new this year are the Cattle Open Shows at 1, 3, 5, and 6 p.m. Saturday, September 2, and the Junior Heifer Show at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 3. The 4-H and FFA Children’s Barnyard provides a chance to interact and learn about the farming community. Fairgoers can see and touch live farm animals; milk goats, watch eggs hatch; play in the hay, bottle-feed dairy calves and participate in many more farm activities.
