Leadership Memphis is Recruiting for its 40th Anniversary Executive Class
MEMPHIS, Tenn., May 16, 2018 – Leadership Memphis, whose mission is to prepare and mobilize leaders to work for the good of the whole community, is now accepting applications for its 40thAnniversary Class, The Executive Program of 2019 which begins in August.
Since 1979, Leadership Memphis has continually developed new ways to connect and create more effective community leaders. Leadership Memphis develops community change agents, connects them with others who have a passion to serve, and empowers them with information and opportunities to make a difference.
“Our Leadership Memphis program brings together the brightest local executives so they can learn more about themselves, each other, and the greater community,” said David Williams, Leadership Memphis President/CEO. “The Executive Program does not teach participants to be leaders – it helps leaders learn about our community,” Williams said.
Over 4,000 alumni have completed the Executive, FastTrack, and Grassroots programs. Among them are mayors, City Council members, County Commissioners, City of Memphis executives, Shelby County executives, Federal Government executives, executives of civic and community organizations, public and private corporation executives, clergy representing over a dozen denominations, school or school system faculty and administrators, health care executives, professionals (doctors, attorneys, and accountants), and small business owners. Over 40% of Leadership Memphis’ alumni are African-American, Latino, Asian, or of another culture.
