MEDIA ALERT: 2^nd Annual Big Hog Run Marks the Official Start
to the 2016 World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest!

WHAT:                Big Hog Run – 2016 World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest (WCBCC/#WCBCC16)

From Grand Champions to hog-grillin’ hopefuls, the 2016 Big Hog Run will see WCBCC team members and certified judges racing to the finish line in the 2^nd Annual Big Hog Run. The .2K downhill road race will start at the corner of Beale Street and Main and end at Beale Street and Riverside Drive.

The grueling course is approximately 656 feet. For the safety of all runners, hydration stations will be positioned at the course mid-point, where Big Hog Racers are required to hydrate with a beverage of their choice, (beer, water and sport drinks are available), before completing the last down-hill leg of the race.

Certified first place winner, based on race criteria, wins $1,000 and #WCBCC16 bragging rights. Cash prizes for 1-5^th place.

WHEN:               Wednesday, May 13

                             2:00 p.m. late registration and check-in

                             4 p.m. race start

WHERE:              Check-in at the Orpheum, Broadway Room.

                             Race starting line: Beale Street from Main Street to Riverside Drive.

WHO:                  Spectators are welcomed to cheer on their favorite athlete.             

                             40+ teams are already pre-registered to run along with five #WCBCC16 judges.
