Memphis, TN., August 20, 2024 — Tops Bar-B-Q and Burgers, a Memphis institution for over 70 years, is excited to announce the launch of the Policeman Burger – a new addition to the menu that honors the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to make Memphis safe.

“Someone told us this thing should be illegal. We took our famous cheeseburger and topped it with our smoked beef brisket, grilled onions, applewood smoked bacon, and sweet bar-b-q sauce. It’s not only mouthwatering but named in honor of our local policemen and women. It pays tribute to the dedication, bravery, and service of policemen and women who work every day to keep us safe. For many years, guests have special ordered the Fireman burger, which is a combination of our famous cheeseburger and slow-smoked bar-b-q pork, so we decided to add it to the menu along with this new policeman burger,” said Randy Hough, CEO of Tops Bar-B-Q. “As a token of our gratitude, we always offer a 10% discount to first responders at all of our Tops Bar-B-Q locations!”

Inspired by the Fireman Burger, the Policeman features a ¼ pound burger grilled to perfection and served with American cheese, topped with smoked beef brisket, Applewood bacon, grilled onions, mayo, and pickles. Customers can enjoy the Policeman as a single for $7.99 or a double patty (additional $1.50) with a side of Tops Bar-B-Q’s famous crinkle-cut fries and a refreshing 24-oz drink, all for $11.49. The Policeman is available to order now at all Tops locations, as well as online and through the mobile app.

Tops offers classic slow-smoked real pit Memphis-style Bar-B-Q cooked on-site with green hickory wood, fresh ground and cooked-to-order award-winning burgers, and traditional sides and desserts. Customers can choose from Bar-B-Q pork sandwiches, Bar-B-Q ribs, Bar-B-Q beef brisket, Bar-B-Q bologna, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, Bar-B-Q Nachos, Bar-B-Q beans, coleslaw, potato salad, French fries, potato chips, apple turnovers, and banana pudding.
